Kim and Jeremy in Thailand

Back in the USA

Jeremy and I are back in the US!! We had a fairly smooth trip, once we got to Bangkok. All our flights from there arrived a little early, and we had no trouble making our connections. Our luggage also arrived safely, which we appreciate!! So Jeremy is in California now with his parents, and I am in Chicago with mine. After being in the US for less than 24 hours, here are some things I have noticed:

-There are an amazing variety of people here!! So many different heights, builds, skin colors, hair colors...and so many people who are taller than me.

-Traffic here is very subdued and a little boring, even if it is on the 'wrong' side of the road. No wonder people talk on the phone, apply makeup, and do their taxes while they drive.

-It is really exciting to be able to read the signs, understand peoples' conversations, and read the menu without ever thinking, "Now what letter is that again?"

-Everything is expensive!!

-It is freezing here!! I don't care what the weatherman says, 80 degrees is not hot!

Last night, we went out to dinner at the Olive Garden with my grandma, aunt, and uncle. It was delicious!! And jet lag hasn't been so bad so far. Today is the Cubs game-I'm excited!! It's good to be home!

  1. It's interesting to see your comments about getting back to the US. Those are the same things I was thinking when I got back. Especially the size of people. In Southern China at least 70% of the people were my size or smaller and I suddenly felt like a hobbit when I got back to LA. hehehe.
